Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use San Diego County Residents Directory. Accessing or using the reference means you accept the terms below. If they are not acceptable, do not use the pages or the linked search services.

1. The Nature of This Reference

San Diego County Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, maps, and directory collections that can show a recorded relationship to San Diego County. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with ARCC, the City of San Diego, California agencies, any court, library, or records custodian.

2. Acceptable and Prohibited Use

Use the pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use this reference or information reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining order or confidentiality program.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or another unlawful act.
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, housing, insurance, or similar eligibility decisions.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale.
  • Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the reference.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency Status

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Neither the text here nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. The information cannot be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. Linked Services

ARCC portals, court searches, library collections, state services, and sponsored tools operate under their own terms and privacy notices. San Diego County Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, pricing, or information practices and is not responsible for their operation.

5. No Warranty

The reference is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. No warranty is made that a statement is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that an external portal will remain available or return a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or a linked resource, including an action taken from a record found through them.

7. Your Responsibility for Misuse

You agree to defend and indemnify the operators from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Original Content and Copyright

The original writing, design, logo, and layout belong to the operators and are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is permitted; republishing full pages or systematically copying content is not.

9. Updates to These Terms

The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version. Continued use after an update is posted means the revised terms are accepted.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited for a person who violates these terms, abuses a search service, or threatens the security or availability of the reference. Restriction may occur without advance notice.

11. California Governing Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, governs requests to California public agencies, not the private reference itself. California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following, applies where its coverage and exemptions reach data held by a covered business.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the extent the law allows.

13. Questions About These Terms

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Requests for a San Diego County record should go to the custodian named on the relevant source page.
